C‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌oursework 2: Work-Based Learning Portfolio You are required to complete an Employability Portfolio. The purpose of the portfolio is to have a record of your work-based learning engagements, to produce your CV and a LinkedIn digital profile, and to complete a critical reflection on your work-baseed learning engagement throughout the year. The specific elements that you need to produce for the Employability portfolio are threefold: 1. Record and evidence of having completed a minimum of 35 hours of WBL engagement which includes a minimum of 25 hours of a placement (or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 hours for career development and 5 hours of digital skills training. The record of engagement, and the supporting evidence, must be placed on the LAS Student Record Form – https://engage.westminster.ac.uk/Form.aspx?id=699373 Please go to Blackboard for more detailed instructions. 2. A critical reflection of a maximum of 1500 words which has four sections. o A WBLE pre-reflection with an informed statement of career goals that evaluates existing skills with the skillset and experiences required. o A reflection of how skills were gained and developed during the process of WBLE during the year which demonstrates an informed understanding of how these enhanced your employability o A post-WBLE reflection that evaluates the skills, attributes and experiences which still require development, and a projection and timeplan of how, when and why these will be developed before and after graduating to achieve your career goal. o An appendix (which is not included in your word count) listing what WBL engagement activities you have done. 3. A CV and a LinkedIn digital profile that concisely state your personal strengths and ambitions, qualifications and experiences, and skills and attributes. This should be added as an appendix to the critical reflection. There are, to summarise, two submissions you need to make: 1. The record of your WBL engagement hours on the LAS Student Record Form – 2. The WBLE critical reflection of 1,500 words which includes a pre-reflection, a reflection of WBLE during the year, and a post-reflection. There should be two appendices which are not included in the word-count. The first appendix should be the list of WBL engagements that you have undertaken during the year. Appendix 2 should be your CV which includes a link to your LinkedIn profile. This document should be submitted throguh Blackboard Word limit: 1500 words (40% of final mark) Only‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ the critical reflection is included in the word-count. Assessment criteria The criteria by which the mark will be given for this assignment are as follows: • Professionalism of CV and LinkedIn Digital Profile • Engagement with placements (or equivalent), careers/employability events and digital skills training • Sophistication of the reflections • Feasibility of timeplan. • Clarity of writing style, and adherence to academic conventions. 2. WBLE Critical Reflection (+ appendices including CV and link to LinkedIn profile) The WBLE critical reflection should be 1,500 word long and consist of three parts. • WBLE Pre-Reflection A succinct statement of where you started at the beginning of the academic year. Show how you asssessed your key personal attributes and your strengths and weaknesses and the type of career you would like to pursue after graduating. Identify the qualifications, skillset and experience required to achieve your career goal. An accurate statement of your skills at the beginning of the module can be demonstrated by use of self-assessment tools. • WBLE Reflection A concise statement of how the work-based learning engagement that you did through the academic year helped you gain and to develop your skills and attributes. How did the various elements contribute to developing your employability – attendance at career and employability events, digital skills training and the placement or placements that you undertook. Give examples of how you overcame challenges and how this helped build your skills, attributes, confidence and understanding of the world of work. • WBLE Post-Reflection A statement of the knowledge, skills, attributes and experiences that still require development before and after graduating to achieve graduate employment and your career goal. A detailed timeplan should be provided of how, when and why these skills, attributes and knowledge will be gained and developed before (in summer 2021 and during Level 6) and after graduating. You should include two appendices that are not included in your wordcount: • List of WBL engagements. List all engagements that you have undertaken (such as careers events, digital skills svents, placement..etc) • Your CV with a link to your LinkedIn profile. Personal instructions: Read the instructions carefully. I did a 43 hours for placement, digital skills and career development as asked in the instructions. Check what I did and right a reflective report based on it. I don’t want it perfect b‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ut I want it good enough.
