Choose one of the three examples discussed in Section 4.4 a. (Swarm Intelligence: Ant Systems), and then: (i) Generate a simple numerical example; (ii) Develop a simple ant algorithm; (iii) Choose a proper e-Criterion (or a set of e-Criteria); (iv) Solve the algorithm and compare the performances obtained from the swarm with an equivalent random behavior. (v) Briefly explain the impact of swarm intelligence on the selected e-Criterion (or a set of e-Criteria). Chapter 5 Q13 Access and explore a particular DSS which applies to e-Work, e-Business, or e-Service. (i) Describe its main components and decision support functionalities; (ii) Identify the category of DSS for which it is designed. (iii) Identify the collaboration functions in it. (iv) Explain which task administration protocols are active, or could be engineered in this DSS to improve its collaboration abilities. (v) Briefly list some of the benefits of the protocols you discussed in (iv). Chapter 5 Q14 Access and explore an e-Work, e-Business, or e-Service enterprise. (i) Describe and identify several different agents that you understand are designed in it, or could be designed to improve its performance. (ii) For each of the agents you discuss in (i), identify its type, e.g., mobile, information, reactive, etc. (iii) Illustrate how those agents interact with the DSS and TAP included in this enterprise.
