The final project in this course is a research paper or case study of a specific natural disaster. The event must have occurred from 1900 to 2010. In order to help you get started on this project, this week you should pick an event and write a short outline including some preliminary references.
Brief initial description of the research topic including a thesis and one natural disaster event such as Hurricane Katrina or the Loma Prieta earthquake chosen in proper outline format. Be sure to include your supporting points and evidence.
Make sure to include topics listed in the paper guide below.
5-7 references in APA format
The length should be about 1 page not including references.
Use a bulleted outline format. Include all sections of the final paper.
For example:
Introduction
History
Event Specifics
Recovery and Restoration
Conclusions.
You do not need to turn in the paper listed below yet. This assignment is only the outline.
Use as many facts and as much relevant data as you have in your outline. Do not be vague or write generic bullet points like the word “Conclusion”.

You may consult with the Writing Center or the library for research or outline writing assistance. The Writing Center counts as extra credit.
Include in-text citations in the outline.
If using figure, table, graphs, or images in your final paper, include them in the outline.
