2) In your own words, describe what is middle passage? What was the condition of the ships? Describe what lasting effect did middle passage have? (5 points, 2 pages)
3) If you have to adopt one of the African-Caribbean religions, which one would you choose? Explain. (5 points, 2 pages)
4) In your own words, describe why the seniority principle is important in Yoruba social interactions? How do Yoruba people conceive and organize bride wealth, polygamy, sexual access and control? (10 points, 2 pages)
Format and Expectations:
• Margins:1-inch margin all around.
• Font & spacing: Times New Roman, font size 12 points, double-spaced. Spacing between paragraphs must be the same as between lines., MLA style
• Works Cited: In the last page of your essays.
• Deadline of submission: Thursday 3/24
• A copy of the Midterm paper should be sent via email by1:00 pm. Another copy of the midterm paper should be printed, stapled, and handed to the instructor in class. I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY PAPER AFTER THE DEADLINE.
• Other Expectations: You are expected to include at least 1 source/reference of your choice that was not covered in class. Do not quote from internet websites.
• You need to quote only from peer-reviewed journal articles (that you can access from the university library) and class readings. You can also quote from EncyclopediaBritannica.
• The language should be formal and the writing academic. You will be assessed on the content, the language used in your essays, and MLA citation guidelines.
