Discuss on Parents and Online Learning Modalities. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate the knowledge and applied skills of teacher inquiry and action-oriented research acquired by the students as a result of this course. In the beginning of the term, students will explore options for their final research projects. Even though a written research project is due by the end of the term, student start working on it early in the term by developing three written assignments directly relevant to the project: initial research plan, draft of literature review, and a finalized plan with data collection instruments. Course readings, activities, and assignment are designed to assist the students in the development and implementation of the research project.
APA (current edition) style is required for the final written research project/paper. Please consult APA manual as a hard copy or website: www.apastyle.org. Please note that not all websites provide accurate information about technical components of writing. Also, not all APA information, particularly in terms of structure and content of written papers, is applicable to the requirements of this class paper. Research purposes and questions are very appropriately stated. Very good alignment between research purpose and questions and data collection instruments.
Literature Review (15 points)
Students make use of previously developed draft of literature review (LR) and refine and complete it as part of the final research paper. LR is the process of analyzing and synthesizing academic sources (articles, books, official documents, etc.) pertaining to the topic of the research project. Literature review provides a broad background for the project. LR is not an annotated bibliography. It should be structured thematically. At least 7 or more academic sources should be reviewed and analyzed. Please note that LR plays a supportive role in this research project, which means that research findings do not have to corroborate the results of the existing studies (“literature”) on a similar topic. However, connections between the project findings and those found in relevant academic studies can be certainly drawn. Length: ~4-5 or more pages.

Data Analysis and Interpretation (15 points)
Data analysis is the most important part of the project. It consists of a detailed description and analysis of the data collected directly from the participants and at a research site. Types of data include, but are not limited to: surveys, interviews, observations, documents, artifacts, and visual materials. Students collect various types of data that fit best the purposes of their projects. Data analysis should be organized so that it represents a cohesive whole. Qualitative data should result in a thematic analysis. Data analysis can be supported by visual representations such as graphs, tables, or images. Course materials and assignments are designed to assist the students in the development of a rigorous, well organized, and creative data analysis. Length: ~5-6 or more pages.
