For this essay, you will address an issue within the criminal justice system. You can select an issue or topic covered in the unit learning resources or another topic that was not covered. You will conduct research and pull from the unit learning resources to synthesize content on the topic. Then, you will compose a letter to someone who has the power to do something about the issue.
Things to consider:
Who will you write to and why?
What do you need to know about this person before writing?
Will you address the issue from a community, local, state or national level?
Will you include individual stories, research in the form of data and facts, or a combination to convince your audience?
Will you propose a plan to resolve or reduce the negative impacts of that issue? If so, consider the complexity of the issue and the various communities that are impacted
