Ethical Guideline Paper

Your written assignment should be a thorough, fully developed academic paper. It is not a short answer to the bullet points below. This assignment requires 8-10 pages (12 font) minimum. Your paper needs to include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources (following the APA guidelines). Scholarly resources may be from an assigned article, additional resources included in this module, or additional research you have done. (Wikipedia is not a scholarly resource!) You should review the Rubric for Ethical Guideline Paper to understand how your work will be evaluated and graded.

For this research paper, you will focus on understanding codes of ethics within organizations and professions. I recommend you choose a company you are very familiar with (if you are currently employed there or have been in the past it will make these assignments easier and more meaningful). As a reminder, this should be a fully developed paper, with at least the minimum number of appropriate references. When comparing codes, be sure to cite all codes per the APA format and include the sources on the reference list.

Your paper needs to cover the following areas:
A review of an organization which you are familiar with which has some elements of a code

Does this organization have a formal code of ethics?
Are elements of a code included in other documents (employee handbook, policy and procedures, etc.)?

Review various aspects of the code (strengths and weaknesses). What is included? What is missing?

Compare your code to others in the industry. What are the similarities? Differences?
How would you strengthen the code?
