The professor will assign one of these bills, and students will prepare a Power Point presentation of 10 slides (not included Title and References) using the following structure as an example to guide the development of their research/presentation:
a. Explain the main characteristics of the assigned bill.
b. Describe the population and/or situation that the bill focuses on.
c. Identify and explain the historical, economic, social, and political context at the time the law was introduced or approved.
d. Investigate what the social/political implications of the bill have been.
e. Explain in an objective and professional manner whether the bill represents progress or a setback for social justice and human rights.
h. Reflect on the issues identified in the bill that you believe require further attention, that were not or have not been addressed in the measure, and that are of great importance to you in solving the problem (you can provide your own personal opinion).
