The project work is intended to align with initiatives that the preceptor and organization are currently addressing. The project that you choose should relate to your setting and add value to the population served or the ongoing/improved functioning of the organization.
My clinical setting is an inpatient psych unit at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital. Please see attached word documents for the safety needs for the unit (those currently in place, and those that will improve safety. I’ve also attached a reflective journal to describe my clinical experience. Here you will find reasons as to why these improvements are needed.

Remember, the project should serve a purpose for the clinical setting and have a product that is a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that can be shared with classmates.
In order to create an effective presentation, consider the following guidelines:
Ensure that the language and scope of the topic is appropriate for the audience
Follow an organized structure for logical flow of the slides
Choose a slide design (background) that is both simple and visually appealing
Select a font style and size that is easy to read from a distance
Ensure contrast between the background and text of a slide
Use a simple, bulleted format for text – avoid complete sentences and narrative content (i.e., convey your message “at a glance”)
Use the ‘Notes’ section of your slides to house the detailed content of your presentation
Add simple graphics if they are meaningful to the content (pictures, charts, graphs)
Review your presentation for writing mechanics; be aware of words with proper spelling but wrong grammar or context (e.g., their, there, they’re)
