Greetings. The assessment that I see on pages 125-128 is for an emotional health assessment, which I scored a 64. God requires that I enter into the unknown a lot. However, I am able to see His glory so much when I do. I have gone into shelters and watched battered women become free from abuse and able to stand on their own two feet in confidence. When God leads me to places, I’m often alone and feel lonely. The Lord tends to always send help to me before I get there. He provides everything for me, housing, food, clothing, finances, etc… Most recently I have witnessed young adults get freed from homelessness and are on to a better path, praise God. I have been able to encourage them through the Word of God and share my testimony with them. It helps them to know that what they desire is possible.
The entrepreneurial approach will be better for me. However, I am open to the employee side as well. Through the entrepreneurial there could be more people reached. You are not limited by an employer by what issues to tackle through the Lord. There are so many people out here that really need disciples ministering to them where they are, because they are not coming to the building. The information that I have gathered helps me to understand that I need to more aware of my emotions. The questions you have asked us about whether we would gravitate to the employee or the entrepreneurial really has be thinking more about the choices. There is a certain kind of people I feel like the Lord is calling me to reach. Everything I have encountered in life has prepared me for it. The vision that God has given to save certain people has to be done by starting a church, because it has been many years they are still missing so much. These types of people are looking for leaders they can trust and know have a heart for the Lord.

In 2015 following a missionary school in Africa, my wife and I responded to what we believe as a divine calling of the Lord to the Texas/Mexico border. We put our house up for sale, sent off letters of resignation, and ventured into the unknown. This time of complete surrender was priceless and taught us several valuable lessons. One of which was an understanding of the degree of management I enjoyed working with. I function very well when given a clear vision, the freedom of how to execute, and accessible resources. My wife and I did not have the benefit of an entrepreneurial survey at the time and today I can see its value in the future. Given my desire to start and plant, I assessed as “entrepreneurial ready” scoring 122.
There were several statements I scored low in that can sharpen me today as I seek to grow. For example, number 9 revealed how I do not enjoy being micro-managed or told what to do. While this can be complementary in being a self-starter to start new works, this could also be a negative leading to isolation, selfish ambition, and performance. I can see the need to keep my will altered before the Lord.
Assessment statement number 17 revealed an unwillingness to let go. This can be a good trait when it comes to the endurance necessary to pioneer new territory for the Lord, however, it can also be a bit of stubbornness to not admit when I have missed it or unwillingness to accept a time of transition.
Both low scores highlight the necessity of continual surrender in my life. Interestingly, I started in missions with surrender and clearly, it is time to “repent and do the deeds I did at first” (Revelation 2:5).”
There is immediate application this during this time of re-tooling for future missions by yielding my own ambitions to the Lord and seeking to only do His will. I am reminded of John 5:19 NASB saying, “Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same way.”
