Write a PowerPoint Presentation on a Pop Culture Icon that was active between the 1950s and the present.
Your presentation should explore the life, work, and icon status of your chosen icon. You may choose to focus on some of the following aspects of your icon: formative years, educational training, influences, career, major contributions to pop culture (songs, film roles, product endorsement/development, etc.), personal life and relationships, depictions in media or film, relationships with governments, national or international legacy, and later years or death.
There are many possible icons to study, including, but not limited to, Al Pacino, Andy Warhol, Audrey Hepburn, Barak Obama, Barbara Streisand, Britney Spears, Bob Marley, Bono, Bruce Lee, Cher, Elton John, Elvis Presley, Eminem, Frank Sinatra, James Dean, Judy Garland, Jimi Hendrix, John F. Kennedy, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Oprah Winfrey, Pierre Trudeau, Princess Diana, Tiger Woods, Tina Turner, and Tupac Shakur.
Your presentation must include the following:
• A cover slide that includes the name of the pop culture icon, your name, your instructor’s name, the course title, the course code, and the date of submission
• Ten full information slides (these slides should mostly contain text)
• Appropriate pictures and/or visuals
• Accurate and correct content relating to your icon
• Clear explanations of facts and images (remember that your instructor will be viewing this as a presentation so it is best to avoid including any information in the “notes” section as it will not be visible)
• A clear depiction of your icon’s life, work, and icon status
• A strong focus on how your icon achieved and/or maintains icon status
• Your own words
• Information presented in proper and logical order
• Clear and understandable content (since this presentation will be read only, information should be detailed and clearly explained)
• Appealing, engaging, and interesting slides
• Proper Canadian spelling
• Proper Canadian grammar
• A reference slide at the end of the presentation with five academic sources (no Wikipedia, blogs, or personal websites)
• Proper APA or MLA citation format on reference slide
• Proper APA or MLA in-text citations within slides
