Tesla’s Battle with Unions in Europe.

Subject: Business

Tesla, one of the largest electric vehicle (EV) makers in the world, was engaged in fighting with labor unions in some European countries, including Sweden. You can find the facts of the case in the video below – you can do your research further on the internet, though: (video will be shared too you in messages)

A report has it that a regional pension fund divested its holdings in Tesla, attributing it to the company’s “very categorical denial to reach collective agreements in any country.”*

Suppose that one of your hypothetical friends is serving as a chief investment officer (CIO) of a major pension fund in the United States. She says that she is considering the same decision-making to sell her company’s shares in Tesla, but she looks hesitant because she sees the upside potential of Tesla, estimating that this company will grow further for the time being.

Let’s say that your friend finally decides to sell her company’s investments in Tesla. In this situation, which stakeholder do you think she prioritized over the other? Would you change your answer if she opts to retain Tesla’s stocks?
