Write a paper explaining how memory works in A Long Way Gone and in a romantic poetry that we have read. Are there any parallels or contrasts between the poet’s and Beah’s perspectives on the function of memory? To what extent does each writer value memory?1. Your essay should contain five paragraphs: an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph (2 to 3 pages)
2. Your intro paragraph should end with an arguable and specific thesis that answers a HOW or WHY question. Each topic sentence must make a claim that supports your thesis.
3. Each body paragraph should quote from the text at least twice, and quotations should be well integrated (no “quote bombs”). You should discuss both the story and poem in each body paragraph, so you will need to organize these paragraphs by idea.
4. Each quotation requires at least two sentences of analysis. Talk about why the quotation is important to your claim!
