Your task is to write a two-paragraph essay of no more than 300 words, on the scientific invention
or discovery that has had the greatest contribution to society. The paragraphs will be written as
two linking persuasive paragraphs which incorporate scientific writing conventions. The purpose
of the exercise is for you to demonstrate your ability to assemble relevant scientific facts and
concepts and then express them in a logical, condensed and coherent composition, using
appropriate and correct scientific language, English expression, grammar and punctuation.
