– Drug addiction has increased over the years. Why? The pursuit of drugs has accelerated and it is time to increase awareness. What causes people to become addicted to alcohol, marijuana, or other illicit drugs? Is it mental illness, low self-esteem, or socio-economic status? This paper will examine what leads people to drug use and addiction.
