Questions: Please all the questions are based on the book “The Man Who Could Move Clouds” by Ingrid Rojas Contreras. Also, add specific quotatations and details when responding to each question. (Pages. 49-100).
1) We learn more about Ingrid and her mother’s experiences with amnesia. Please Discuss some specific details of how Ingrid experiences her life after her bicycle accident and forgetting her memory. Please compare these with specific details of what her Mami goes through after falling in a well and losing her memory.
2) On page 71, Ingrid says: ” I am not the same person as I was before my accident. Nor is my mother since hers. We are both women transformed by the exit and the return. In this way, we alone understand each other; we know what it’s like to wake up disassembled and witness, hour by hour, the invention of the self.” In what way does Ingrid engage in an “invention of the self” during her amnesia and after she starts to regain her memory?
3) Ingrid uses imagery, repetition, and contrast to compare her mother’s experiences with her own. Try to identify at least one if not more of these literary devices.
