BaptistCare NSW, is one of the key organisations that offer social and community services which address different needs of community members. Within this intervention framework, the idea of clinical supervision arises as an important component, which ensures the staff well-being and service quality. Clinical supervision practice involves offering support, direction, and opportunities for reflection to staff so that they can handle the complexities of their work efficiently.

The study aligns with the strategic goals of the organisations as it allows for consideration, study and reporting of the role that the current Practice Supervision Policy & Procedure (approved July last year) has on staff well-being and service quality in BaptistCare NSW. Further, the study provides a comprehensive analysis of staff perceptions, the impact of supervision on burnout and vicarious trauma, as well as the evidence-based benefits of clinical supervision in the social and community services industry with regards to aged care settings.

The project will review the current structure, benefits and concerns of the framework and thus provide a collation of data that will reflect the views of practice support staffs’ wellbeing.
