Compose a research paper outlining the five phases involved in composing a literature review.
Formulate a clear understanding of the problem is the critical first step in the process of social science research. The purpose of this assignment is to establish the importance of your research topic. Some of the things you will need to explain are the scope of the problem and why more knowledge in this area is important to the field of social work.
Requirements and Guidelines
Using the topic, you identified in Module 1 and the articles you identified in Module 2 you are going to develop a draft Literature Review. This assignment is a draft of your final Literature Review which will be due in Module 7. Even though this is a draft, you will need to do substantial work on this assignment in order to earn full credit. A simple outline will not be accepted. Your instructor will provide you with significant feedback on this draft that will need to be incorporated into the final draft that is due in Module 7. This draft Literature Review should be 4 – 6 pages and in APA format.
Your literature review draft should address the following:
Introduction: provide an overview of the topic of the literature review, such as the central theme. This should include relevant and up to date statistics about the prevalence of the identified social problem.
Body of Paper: This section will contain your discussion of the articles/sources that you have identified for this literature review. You will need to decide how best to organize your content (i.e., chronologically, thematically, or methodologically).
Conclusion/Recommendations: Thorough discussion of what you have drawn from the review of the literature thus far. Also recommend topics for further discussion on your topic.
