Think back to the research question you developed in Module 1. (At this point, your question may have changed slightly based on feedback from your instructor, and that’s okay.) For this week’s assignment, use Google (either standard Google, Google with advanced search, or Google Scholar) to locate one credible, relevant source related to your research question. Submit a link to that source, along with a paragraph that answers the following questions:
How did you locate this source? Did you use regular Google, Google Scholar, advanced searching, etc.? What keywords did you type in? Did you try more than one set of keywords? How many pages of results did you need to look through before selecting your source?
What made you select this source, out of all the others that were available in your results list? What makes you believe this source is accurate and credible? How does it help you answer your research question?

Professor feedback on research question from module 1 assignment:
Overall Feedback
“Great start on this, Jeramiah (and great use of in-text and reference list citations, which we’ll discuss further later in the course). Using a source to help you understand and narrow your topic is also a useful strategy.
Though you have the right idea here, you may find that the question as it stands now is a bit broad. There are many types of racial discrimination and many potential impacts. “Mental health and well-being” is also a bit broad. You may find it useful to focus on a particular setting (e.g. “racial discrimination in the workplace”) or a particular demographic group. You might also find it useful to focus on either mental health or other elements of well-being, or even a particular mental health concern (e.g. anxiety and/or depression). In your paragraph, you also mention other elements of the topic that interests you, such as interventions and support systems, as well as social justice and equity.
Whatever you choose to research, be sure that it is reflected in your question.
Finally, I’d love to see more of you in your reflection. You’ve spoken about the general importance of the topic, but I don’t see many of your own thoughts and opinions here. What do you think about the topic? Why did you select it? Though our research later in the course will stand primarily on external evidence, I’d like to see more of your own thoughts in reflections like this one.
Let me know if you have any questions. Great start!”
