In the previous weeks, we learned what genres make up the visual and performing arts, and we took time to explore the basics of these distinct art forms. In this final week, we will bring that information together as we make the case for the arts as an important component of the primary and secondary educational experience, as well as the importance of the arts for the average American adult.
Think back to your own arts education as a child. You might have taken basic music and art classes in elementary school, or more structured ensemble groups like orchestra, band, choir, and theater. Maybe you took art classes at a community center.
