Write a research paper outlining how to structure a term paper on a particular topic that interests you within the context of crisis intervention at the macro or micro level of social work intervention. Students will have the opportunity to gain more knowledge and understanding by developing a term paper around a specific area of interest to them within crisis intervention on a micro or macro social work level of intervention. Students will:
Choose a topic of personal interest to them on a micro or macro social work level.
Research that topic of interest with a minimum of 6 recent peer reviewed sources.
Introduce their topic or area of interest in a written paper, based on the contents listed below. Provide a summary of their learning. The paper should be MAXIMUM 10-12 pages (not including cover page, references), in APA format. The contents of the paper are outlined below:
Headers and Sub-headers are expected in APA format
The introduction should identify the specific area of interest you have chosen for intervention and identify the perspective for intervention (micro or macro).
In the discussion, present a literature review in APA format the area of intervention you have chosen using a minimum of 6 recent (2010 or newer) peer reviewed sources from professional journals, text books, etc. There should include at least two sources on cultural issues related to your area of interest. Websites (be selective… should be professional or academic in nature) may be used as 2 of the 6 sources to help illustrate your topic.
Explore one of the following:
Provide a creative intervention program based on your review of the problem and the literature, to address the particular type of crisis intervention or disaster response you’ve selected. —OR—
Locate and summarize a recent public policy related to your selected area of interest purpose, impact, etc.). If no policy exists, you may propose an idea you have for policy, based on your review of the problem and the literature.
Conclusion: Summarize your work. Specifically, what are the next steps, considerations? Needed resources? End with a conclusion
