For this assignment, you will you will need to choose two (2) problem statements from those provided in the Lesson 3 course resources: choose one (1) qualitatively-focused and one (1) quantitatively-focused problem statement. These Problem Statements are taken from previous National (formerly Northcentral) University psychology doctoral dissertations.
This week you will create a handout for a webinar on problem statements for Master’s level students. In this handout, address the following points:
Describe what a problem statement IS and what it is NOT. In your descriptions, clarify what makes a “good” problem statement and explain the role of research literature.
Explain the role of a problem statement in conducting research
Using your 2 chosen problem statements, explain to your audience what the “key” ideas, concepts, variables, or relationships of interest are in each. Provide evidence from each problem to explain why it is either quantitatively or more qualitatively-focused.
You may use bullet points rather than full sentences for this handout, but be sure to cite your sources both within the text (parenthetically) and in a Reference list.
