In their final papers, students are expected to research and create an argument about what side their chosen country chose during the Cold War. (For example: “While historians have argued that Indonesia fell firmly in the Soviet sphere in the Cold War, this paper argues that Indonesia charted an independent path. This paper will demonstrate Indonesia’s independence by examining its foreign policy, economic policies, and official anti-imperial stance.”) Students will be expected to produce a 5-6 page argumentative research paper, based on secondary sources (which students have already begun to identify in the bibliography assignment).
The paper must be double-spaced, have 1-inch margins, include page numbers in the upper right hand corner, use Times New Roman font, and use proper Chicago Manual of Style or MLA style in-text citations and works cited page.
