This discussion board is where you should work with your classmates to make sense of the literature you’ve read in this unit. Reflect on the important characters, ideas, themes — basically anything from the Literary Terms, Elements of Fiction and Literature, How to Analyze Novels & Short Stories, How to Analyze Poetry, or How to Analyze Drama sections of Learning Unit One. Also, be sure to consider the literary theory being introduced in this unit.
The discussion is a way for you to keep track of what you thought was important in the learning unit and hear what others found to be important. It will be helpful when studying for the midterm or final. Put down your ideas in your own words. Whenever you use direct language from the course materials, be sure to use quotation marks. You are NOT discussing the Alice novel.
The assignment requires an initial post of 250 words.
Then, you must respond to at least one of your classmates with a 100-word reply where you work to create meaning for one of the readings in the discussion by practicing being a Racial, Ethnic, and Cultural Identity critic.
You might also consider what stories/poems from previous units would connect to your classmates’ discussion post.
