This week’s discussion topic focuses on the relationships between culture and education. An array of important educational issues including globalization, diversity national culture, organizational culture, and the culture of sub-groups or marginalized groups are all important areas for educators and educational leaders. The discussion may target one or more of these important areas.
The weekly materials also include the prominent theoretical frameworks for comparative education. One or more of the following questions may guide your discussion (You do not have to choose all the questions) :
1) How should we define culture?
2) How do we define education in a global context?
3) How can we guarantee that every child receives a quality education?
4) Can education change the culture? Should it?
5) How can research reshape the future of education?
6) How can we promote cultural sensitivity and awareness?
I have attached two of our weekly readings to this order. Something from both of the readings must be used as a reference in the post. You may also use an outside source or two as well.
