Consider two views of race or two views of gender or two views of groups more generally. How well do the views meet what people take to be “common sense”? What are pros and cons of the views? Justify. Overall, which view is better? Justify.

Papers involve thinking critically about and doing additional research on a topic in social ontology. Papers must be both explanatory and critical. They must include a thesis that you argue for. You must justify your claims with evidence and arguments. Consider objections and respond to them. This will help to justify your view.

They should be 7-8 pages double spaced, 12 point font.
