The goal of this essay is to apply information derived via independent research of the primary literature to develop a plan to control the vector-borne disease. This will require you to research and account for multiple aspects of the disease, including the distribution/location (epidemiology), disease symptomology/treatment, pathogen biology/detection, vector biology/detection/control, public health measures/education and creation of a strategy to control the disease outbreak. You are encouraged to be creative while also considering the costs associated with your strategy. Many vector-borne diseases are found predominantly in very poor countries with limited resources. Methodologies should be based on existing and/or experimental techniques for vector surveillance/control, disease surveillance/control/treatment, and communication/educational outreach. Describe (in detail) logical and creative solutions to address the questions posed and adapt real-world examples/strategies from the literature to your plans.
