U-Shaped Development refers to when a child learns how to speak.
When they initially learn things they do them right
then as they learn more about the project they start doing it wrong
then they do it right again.
WHen a child learns to speak they may say
1- I ate all my food (or) I’m Done.
Then as they learn more grammer .. they might say
2 – I “ated” all my food (or) I Done.
Then as they realize how they are using the grammer incorrectly, they will revert back into speaking correctly.
3- I ate all my food (or) I’m Finished
