What about this case interested/surprised you? ,Do you think the Supreme Court has been a positive force in protecting civil rights or have they been too slow to respond to pressing inequalites in the law?How many of the nine justices were in the majority, (A court decision needs only a majority of the justices (currently 5 out of 9) on the court to agree on an outcome for it to become case law. The Justices not in the majority issue what is called a dissent. Cases that have strong majorities (i.e. 8-1 or even all 9 Justices) tend to be harder to overturn at a later date.)
