We have been building towards the American Revolution. From the
earliest beginnings of the British colonies through the Continental Congress’s Declaration
of Independence, we have laid out a variety of factors that played a major role in colonial
development and disputes. Your task is to answer the question below in a 1000-word
essay (please include your word count in the lower left-hand corner) that discusses the
American Revolution as it was experience by those involved:
Describe the ways in which the American Revolution was a “civil war” between
the American colonies and Great Britain. And with this in mind, how
“revolutionary” was the American Revolution? Discuss the political, social, and
religious changes that resulted.
In your essay, be sure to use specific examples from the textbook and/or the primary
documents to support your argument answering the above questions and cite where
appropriate. Citations from anything other than your textbook will result in a point
deduction.
Your paper must be typed, double-spaced in a standard font (Times New Roman, 10 or
12 pt. font), and include page numbers. Be sure that your essay has a thesis/introduction,
followed by a body of supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion.
