Write a philosophy statement that reflects your attitude towards work.
– What purpose does work serve in your life?
– Where on your list of priorities does work fit (ex. top, bottom, somewhere in the middle)?
– Is work valuable as a means to a tangible end (i.e. money) or does work have intrinsic value separate from money (i.e. satisfaction, fulfilling ambition)?
– Do you “work hard” or work “just enough”? Provide examples to support your response.
– To what degree does your work reflect your character?
You do not need to limit yourself to these topics. Write about whatever matters to you and make the statement a reflection of who you are as an employee or future employee. Your philosophy statement should be between 1-4 paragraphs in length, double-spaced, with standard margins.

When you love what you do it never feels like work is my philosophy statement. Work is a high priority in my life, though it started as a means to financial gain my passion in this field provides greater intrinsic fulfillment. It allows me to breakdown barriers to healthcare for patients of my community. I often overextend myself for my job as working just enough was never my style, it’s all or nothing for me. My ultimate goal is to lead a team of other ambitious, compassionate individuals who want to fix a broken healthcare system to benefit underprivileged and underserved communities.
