This is an ARTICLE CRITIQUE.
For the article critique, you are evaluating an article addressing a health disparity. When choosing an article ask yourself the following: What is the health disparity? Does the article’s population meet the definition of a health disparity? For instance, take hypertension in the elderly. It is common. Is it a disparity? Not really in itself. So, think about what well-controlled hypertension looks like. Is there a difference in 1 cohort vs another in hypertension outcomes due to a disparity? For instance is there a difference in the rates of controlled hypertension between low income and high income cohorts, blacks and whites, rural and urban? Does everyone have the same access to healthcare? Is there clear research relating to the disparity? Does the research article demonstrate an intervention utilizing an interdisciplinary approach which improved the health outcome of the group with the disparity? Was technology involved? Discuss what technology was involved or what could be used. Also, when writing your critique, do not copy and paste direct quotations. Disseminate the information in your own words and cite appropriately!

Includes a clear understanding of the use of interprofessional team
Includes the importance of interprofessional teams
Includes clear evidence that it helped with health disparity, obtaining care, and quality
