In this essay, you will explore various positions on the issue we have been discussing in class—the impact of information technology on people. We will ultimately complete research that answers our research question:
“What is the real impact that Social Media has on our relationships; does it bring us closer together or isolate us from one another?”
Our research will allow us to explore various positions/stances that people have on the question. We hope to find credible sources that answer the research question in different ways. You must find three distinctly different positions on your issue. For our question, there will be some obvious polarizing answers, like “Social media is negative because it distracts us from spending important face-to-face time with people we love.” Or, “Social media is positive because it allows individuals separated by long distance the chance to connect in ways that were impossible before.” The key will be to find a third position that lies somewhere in between or outside of the obvious negative or positive positions.
