An effective way to engage with the course materials, your peers, and with the instructor is to discuss the main argument being presented in each text chapter or supplemental reading. Each chapter of the text or supplemental reading is presenting a unique argument, it is your job to determine what the argument is and communicate the components of the argument by completing an annotation of each reading. Your discussion of the argument for each text chapter or supplemental reading should include the following headers and information 1) main argument, 2) evidence being presented, 3) conclusion, and 4) new terms or concepts. All parts of your discussion post need to be in your own words rather than using any direct quotes. An example of an annotation for the first reading in Module 2 (Supplemental Reading-“American Public Education an Origin Story”) is provided in the Syllabus (under the description and guidelines of the annotation assignment). Each annotation should be a minimum of 250 words in length

Note: Since you have two assigned readings for Module 9 (SON Chapter 5 and Supplemental Reading-Disparities Within: Unequal Spending and Achievement in an Urban School District) you should have two annotations, one for each assigned reading in separate paragraphs.
