Netflix was founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in 1997 as an online DVD rental company. Netflix business model, however, changed over time and expanded to include streaming in 2007 and the production of original content (films and TV series) in 2012.
Today Netflix operates in over 190 countries, produces more films and series than any other network or cable channel in the US, and its original content has been nominated for numerous prestigious awards (e.g., the Oscars, Emmys, and Golden Globes).
