Personal Progress: Status Check
– (Add new – opening statement for this week) – Continuing to research new ideas for narrowing my topic. ( I need help with narrowing this topic) So far, I did not make any new changes to my topic “Can CBT be effective on prisoners and inmates who are suffering from depression or anxiety?” I may eventually narrow this further to specific inmates, such as pregnant women or prisoners on death row.

Dr Parker, I read I your comment on the mixed methods and yes that will be my approach- (please help with the wording)

a. Research the National Library of Medicine.
b. Research the connection between anxiety and DSH contributing factors
c. Read and review the article for Townsend et al. (2010) on the use of CBT for young offenders with anxiety.
d. Familiarize myself with common terminologies and clinical methods.
e. Gather articles for my folder.
f. Review past student dissertations.
Questions:- Update the below info and add two additional questions– Add
1. Are there dissertation tutors who can guide you on a 1-1 basis through this process?
2. Can one choose to not do a dissertation and instead do a capstone?
