Write an Essay on the novella, “The Pearl” by John Steinbeck.write three body paragraphs a conclusion and an intro. Please only use evidence from the novella, “The Pearl.” The topic of this essay is identifying a theme. The theme I came up with was “never trust anyone as there is always someone out get you.” But if you would like to choose some other theme to write about then that is fine as well. Roman font, with the proper heading, and creative essay title
Contain a claim and quotes from the novel that support your claim statement.2. General Information – State the book title, author name, genre (TAG), then give
information about characters and plot that lead to your claim—or what you will be

3. Claim (This is a one to two-sentence statement that explains the position or idea you will
be addressing in your paper. Make sure you include the points you will explain in your body paragraphs.)
Body Paragraphs One, Two, and Three
1. Topic Sentence–This focuses your paragraph on one part of your claim and is where you STATE YOUR MAIN IDEA for the paragraph.
2. Identify the answer that supports your claim. Depending on the prompt you chose, this will vary. For example, it might be one of the reasons that Kino is a fool or a hero. It might be one of the things the pearl symbolizes or one of the ways the doctor and Kino are similar. This is usually one of the reasons you are providing. (Refer to your graphic organizer)
3. Cite examples/evidence–(This involves referring to example(s) from the book. You PROVIDE EVIDENCE to show why the idea you asserted in the topic sentence is reasonable. Evidence may include direct quotes or summaries of relevant plot points.)
4. Explain your quotes and examples. Explain how the quotes support your claim.
5. Conclusion–This is a general summary or wrap-up of your point for the paragraph and
should give a sense of finality to the paragraph before you move to your next point.

2. Mention how your examples support your claim.
3. Broaden the claim with a kicker.
