Online Payment Transactions such as credit cards and debit cards are protected by federal law, but these transactions and many person-to-person transactions may also be governed by agreement and state law. After reviewing the readings, please discuss the following:
Assess the role of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and federal law and possible problems with Person-to-Person Transactions. What are your conclusions about the existing protections and possible problems?
When disputes arise concerning online payments, what is the best way to protect consumers from fraud and other illegal activities? Are the current reporting systems practical and effective?
Provide examples to support your conclusions from the readings and/or your own experiences.
