Research is about asking compelling questions. Whether you are working on a quality improvement project, creating a protocol, or participating in formal research, you need to start with a compelling question that needs an answer.
Using the research report found by the orthopedic surgeon in Chapter 3, discuss the study’s strengths and limitations.
1. What are the strengths addressed in the research report? How do strengths affect the usefulness of the evidence-based information?
2. What are the limitations of the research report? How do limitations effect the usefulness of the evidence-based information?
3. Use the UT Health Library to find one peer-reviewed healthcare-related or respiratory journal article published within the last 5 years that you are interested in assess the strengths of the research report. Discuss the limitations of the study and the effects on the usefulness of the information.
