PART I DOCUMENT ANALYSIS (SEE IT): Carefully examine 3 documents located within this module (a) TEKScore Performance Summary (b) TEKScore Student Responses, and (c) TEKScore Item Analysis. Each item correlates with 7th grade writing scores at XYZ MIDDLE SCHOOL. Part II: (1) IDENTIFY THE GAPS (NAME IT): As Item (b) TEKScore Student Responses is critically examined, make note of trends in student responses. Specifically, look at the correct responses in the top line under [key] reading left to right. Then examine each student′s response (1-15), making note of response groupings. For example, how many students selected the correct response. Digging deeper, make note of similarities in responses (30% of the class selected ___ as the incorrect response). Key: + (correct response); letter number (incorrect response); * (no response) Rationale: The reason you do Item (b) first is to associate scores with actual student′s. (2) Critically examine Item (c) TEKScore Item Analysis. The ancillary purpose here is to begin to unpack the TEKS in order to build educator capacity by either targeting intervention for specific students AND/OR looking for gaps in instructional practices (teacher deficiency). Please notice the color legend at the bottom of the TEKScore Item Analysis, paying careful attention to areas of need. PART III: CREATE A PLAN TO COACH THE TEACHER (DO IT): Now, plan to meet with the teacher to discuss your findings and to create a Plan of Action moving forward. Use the handout located within this module – Teacher Goal-Setting and Professional Development (GSPD) Plan Sample Document to establish 4 goals for the educator. Note – normally the teacher creates her/his own goals, but in this case, YOU will create the goals. Please pay careful attention to the example goals in the GSPD Handout and create a document with the same headings as the example. Create your document using Microsoft Excel or the tables feature in Microsoft Word. For ″A″ quality work, synthesize and bring forth the information presented in the readings to support your goal selections. Use additional attachments or narrative with citation, as needed. The T-TESS Rubric and the T-TESS Coaching Handout has been added to this module should they be needed to complete the assignment. Consider these Guiding Questions as the project is prepared: Why are these goals important? What impact will these goals have on teacher and student performance? What are the specific actions necessary for the goals to be accomplished? What types of resources and/or support are needed to achieve these goals? How will these be provided? How will evidence be collected in ongoing and systematic ways to show implementation and impact? How will I ultimately know if I accomplished the goals?
