Step 1: Go online and skim through some articles from Outrage magazine, published in the Philippines since 2007. Here’s the link: https://outragemag.com/ (Links to an external site.). Step 2: As you read, think about how life compares for LGBTQIA+ individuals in the Philippines versus in the United States. What seems similar and what seems different? How do the social, religious, political, and economic situations compare? Keep in mind that Outrage includes a lot of stories about the US as well as stories from the Philippines (and elsewhere from around the world), so be sure to focus on the articles that describe life in the Philippines. Step 3: Write at least 750 words, referring to at least three articles on diverse topics, and noting what is similar and what is different between the Philippines and the US. Be sure to include references to these articles in footnotes, and to use the proper quotation format for any quoted passages (see the newsletters projects for details on proper quotations).
