Discuss the differences between enhanced benefits and perquisites.
Enhanced benefits are benefits that are offered to you by your employer. A few benefits would include non wage compensation. These benefits are – health insurance, stock options, 401K, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance and vision insurance. Perks are known as ways to motivate employees to perform a better job or for example increase sales. Perks could include things like a company car, company phone, discount travel fares, gym memberships, standing desks, and working remotely.
Perks are a good one, I feel like the company I currently work for offers a lot of perks to its employees. The salesmen all have a company vehicle, and the company covers the gas they put in those cars. Employees have company cell phones. Another perk my company offers is additional training for current service techs. There are two service techs that just got back from out of state for a service training weekend and the company paid for it all. This increases an employee’s experience and knowledge which in return motivates an employee to work harder. Sometimes perks can be better than the benefits depending on what type of business you work for or preference can play a factor in that as well.
