For this paper, you will produce a review of a film through a sociological lens, focusing on intersectionality. This is not a summary of the film but an analysis of the film using sociological concepts
You must analyze the film using sociological concepts that we have discussed and read about throughout the
semester. For the analysis, please answer the following questions:
1. In the introduction of your paper, include a brief synopsis of the film, and describe the main characters,
including their character names.
2. Using your sociological imagination, what is your review of this movie? Make sure to review the
sociological imagination on our Canvas Module 5 when responding to this question, and include a
definition.
3. Analyze this film using intersectionality. Race/ethnicity MUST be included in this analysis, along with at
least one of the following concepts: social class, gender, sexuality, age, ability/disability.
a. How is intersectionality discussed or displayed in the movie?
b. How does the film help you to understand intersectionality?
4. Analyze this film using another concept from class, for example: racial fallacies, redlining, racial profiling,
interracial relationships, etc.
a. How is this concept discussed or displayed in the movie?
b. How does the movie help you to understand this concept?
5. How does who you are (your personal, intersectional self and biases) affect your viewing of the film?
6. When watching the film through a sociological lens, how has the movie changed for you?
