You will:
Identify and describe the text(s) you are analyzing using the 5ws (what, when, where, who and why) was the text produced. Provide citations here.
Discuss why you selected the text(s).
Identify whether you are doing an ideological analysis or discourse analysis and provide a definition from the class
Identify three to four key themes present in the text and provide examples.
Discuss why those themes are significant in the text?
Every text has a context, what is the context for the given text?
What have you learned about the text after doing the ideological analysis?
Discuss how the four themes identified above connect to broader ideologies in society.
Are there any counter or opposing discourses in the text? What are they and can you provide 1-2 examples?
After completing your analysis, reflect on your experience using the method? What did you like? Were there any challenges?
