Write a REACTION paper about a wrongful conviction case that you will explore by listening to an investigative podcast and reading additional related material. In the paper, you will discuss the case in light of the research on the human psychological factors that contribute to wrongful conviction. The Paper will be on the Curtis Flowers Case: – Curtis Flowers was tried six times for a crime he almost certainly did not commit. His most recent conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court of the United States in 2019 on the grounds that the prosecutor engaged in racial bias during jury selection. Since that decision, the state of Mississippi has decided NOT to try him again; he is now a free man. In addition to racial bias many other problems plagued this case, including several of the issues we cover in class (e.g., witness memory; confirmation bias; bad forensic science and coercive interviewing tactics).
