Write a comparison contrast essay by choosing two characters depicted in any book or short story such as
the two young women in the stories Eveline
by James Joyce or The Lie by Kurt Vonnegut and Barn
Burning by William Faulkner. Analyze each character separately by comparing and contrasting their
traits, tendencies, conflicts, and the choices each one has to make such as staying home or leaving,
fighting or fleeing, etc. Compare and contrast the two analyses and state a conclusion. If you wish, you may research and discuss opposing views to yours and argue why your opinion is more credible.
