Write a discussion paper on the Dispute of a charged off account on credit.I had just raised my score up to a 745 and decided it was time to apply for a home loan since my lease is ending soon only to have my credit drop by 61 points the next day saying Verizon labeled my account as a charge off account meaning it has been considered as a loss by the company which is false information. I had been behind on my Verizon payment due to me undergoing surgery to have my daughter and I left my job since it did not offer maternity leave and I did not know how long it would take me to recover. In addition to us getting Covid right after getting home from the hospital and my husband could not work for weeks. I had no money until my company I left sent me a check months after resigning that I used to pay my phone off in full and attempted to transfer service on August 21st. The site said an error was occurring and I couldn’t transfer service and I was given another bill of $88.26 due on sept. 21st which I attempted to transfer service again but was told I couldn’t until balance due was settled and then had another bill of $109.07 due on Oct.21st with a disconnect warning given on Nov 9th 2021. I settled everything and transferred service to straightalk on November 13th 2021. Even though I shouldn’t had been able to transfer service until balance was paid in full I had an email sent to me on Dec.2nd that I did not read till now trying to backtrack because It was in my spam folder, stating there were still charges of $83.58 on my account even though I no longer had a line with Verizon and transferred service. I wasn’t aware of this balance due to the emails being in my spam folder and I had moved addresses, Verizon was sending mail to my past residence. I was completely unaware and thought everything was settled until I received a call from MRS associates collection agency telling me Verizon has sent a debt to collections against me and I immediately paid the debt and now a month later my account has wrongfully marked as a charged off account. My lease is ending and I need a bigger place for me and my family which can only happen if this is corrected. I have documents providing proof of all above statements.
I need an appeal letter disputing the charge off account please.
