My question is: can you please re-write as well as re-edit that for me and get my assignment back on 23rd April mid-night? If everything′s ok, I will be sending my assignment to you tomorrow morning as well as the brief guidelines as well? Developing learning motivations in MFL classrooms: An observational study of UK Mandarin Learners in KS3 Introduction Motivation can be said to be the main factor that inspires people to do certain things and sustain those activities with a considerable amount of will and interest (Dörnyei, 2014). This is why, among other reasons, I have decided to op for ‘motivation’ because based on my first-teaching experience, motivation plays a critical role in affecting the ability of students to learn a second language (L2). Considering the steady drop in students’ willingness to learn a second language in England, my endeavor is to not only inspire the pupils to accept the challenge of learning an L2 but also get them motivated to do so instead of having them become hesitant learners. I aim to examine the factors that could help motivate the language learning skills of pupils whilst identifying potential strategies which could be potentially used to establish/maintain their motivation. The observational study would be held in one of the KS3 and its participants include pupils within my KS3 focused class. I would leverage observation and interviews to collect data, before commencing data analysis related to the domain of motivation in second language acquisition concerning my university lecture notes as well as associated studies. Structurally, I will commence with a literature review of some theories of motivation that outline the most recent developments to have taken place in the context of acquiring a second language. Subsequently, I will determine the factors which could potentially affect the motivation of pupils to learn a second language whilst identifying poignant to sustain their motivation. Ultimately, I will focus on how ‘motivation’ contributes to the wider curriculum and education more generally. According to key policies, Literature Review of Research on Motivation 1. Gardner’s socio-educational model 2. Schumann’s acculturation model 3. Dörnyei’s ideal-self theory 4. Heider’s attribution theory 5.
