REVISION: please place your bids. revision instructions: THE IDEA: creating solar sleeping pods in Coventry, England for the homeless I looked into the issues in Coventry and one of the problems that they have is homelessness. Coventry has one of the highest rates of families facing homelessness. For every 1,000 households in the area, there are 12.6 that were assessed either homeless or at risk or homelessness. I thought of creating designs for solar-sleeping pods in the shape of flowers in different colours that would allow homeless people to use these pods as a temporary shelter. This would allow them to use these pods at night instead of freezing on the streets. Of course, this does not completely tackle the issue of homelessness in Coventry but it helps them temporarily. What needs to be revised: this message is for the new assigned writer The four maps need to be created as the writer has failed to do so. The four maps: -“fit, stick, spread and grow” -Empathy map -Persona map -User stories All four maps are maps about the solar sleeping pods that I created in Coventry, England. How will you be able to tell the transformation has been achieved? Include emotion and colour in Design as a form of Storytelling and elaborate. Please read Emotional Design book by Don Norman (this sound be one of your sources) include in the essay Norman describes that one of the aspects to how we encounter designed things is emotional. I have kept this in mind when I chose the colour palette and the shape of the solar sleeping pods. I chose to use pastel colours: blue, purple, pink and yellow. Pastel colours represent peace. It also symbolises safety and tranquillity. Which I think is important to use when I think of people without homes, wanting to find peace, safety and hope. https://youtu.be/W8YNlmiRPpw Anti-homeless architecture in the Uk https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/548998 include this You`re doing the opposite of "hostile architecture" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostile_architecture And look at the pdf And please elaborate on the emotions behind the solar sleeping pods. Please don`t write something negative and say that you will change the design of it as this is a fixed design. It will not be changed. I feel like you need to elaborate more on the design processes and design thinking instead of explaining what the solar sleeping pods are. Only explain in the first paragraph. Then get into depth and details about how you got to this idea Essay structure reminder My Vision So you are now a ‘designedly change agent` – but what do you hope to achieve with these new powers? Final reflections Summarise all of the above into an elevator pitch for design thinking. Raised questions. Future plans. Bibliography Covering the design studies as well n the introduction you say "Weather is a significant threat to the homeless in Coventry. As a result, the sleeping pods offer the best solution to some of this population`s primary challenges. The facility is water and windproof, hence saving them from the threats emanating from the two elements. Timber or steel reinforcements also ensure the dwellers remain safe under strong wind and other external forces.". I feel like this is irrelevant as I did not build this idea because of the weather. The solar sleeping pods are a temporary solution for the homeless people in Coventry, England. Weather may play a part to keep them safe. But there should be a stronger introduction (a more heartfelt one backed up with evidence).
