4. Technology – GeoGebra: Translation Work
Watch the video GeoGebra – Translation Work which gives you an overview of where
to find important features within GeoGebra to help you when translating objects
You will be showing your understanding of how to use some of the translation
features in GeoGebra by completing the given assignment. Be sure to state
details to help support your answer. I will not assume it is correct. Provide
proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
Assignment:
1. Place 3 points in quadrant #1: A = (1, 1), B = (2, 4), and C = (4, 0)
Show this as a triangle and name it as such. Leave it the
rustic maroon color.
2. Rotate your original triangle 64 degrees counterclockwise around
point B and color it blue.
Type a text box describing what you did to create the
blue triangle. Change the text font to blue as well.
3. Place point D at (-2, 2) and point E at (-5, 4). Use the vector tool
to make a vector starting at point D and ending at point E
4. Translate the original triangle using the created vector and color it
pink.
Type a text box describing what you did to create the
pink triangle. Change the text font color to pink as well.
5. Place point F at (8, 0). Use the Rotate about Point feature to rotate
the original triangle around point F and color it green.
Type a text box describing what you did to create the
green triangle. Change the text font color to green as
well.
